[Tour Stop] Never Say Never by Kailin Gow

Today I am excited to be a part of the Never Say Never by Kailin Gow
Blog Tour brought to you by SupaGurl Books!

What girl wouldn't want to be surrounded by the sexy guys from the hottest teen rock sensation in the country? 18-year-old Never "Neve" Knight, not only is surrounded by the hottest boys to hit the music charts, but she is the band's lead singer. As the band's lead singer and manager, Never formed and shaped the band to where it is today, a band on the rise and on the brink of being signed by a label. As one of the guys, she knew each of the band members since they were all snot-nose ten-year-olds. While her boys were the cutest guys and they would protect her like knights, she couldn't date any one of them and ruin the chance at being signed with the record label of her dreams.
That changes when one of the band members suddenly drops out of the band, and in walks Danny Blue, with his dreamy blue eyes, hot body, and British accent. Suddenly, Never's solid world has turned to mush, and her rule for not dating one of her band members is seriously challenged. Can she keep her head straight and get her band signed with a label without losing her heart?

Let me make one thing very clear to everyone before I get going into this review.  This is a NEW ADULT novel which means yes there are more "mature" scenes.  Did this change how I felt about this book?  Absolutely not.  This is just more proof of just how versatile Kailin Gow is when it comes to her writing and not only that proof that she has no limits.  This was like a breath of fresh air really.  It took all of the sexual tension and fustration that you read about in YA & relieves just a little of it to make it NA.  I'm not talking detailed graphic scenes but definately ones that will make you fan yourself and make this book for older teens.  There is a reason kailin Gow says 17+ with this one.

If you can accept the fact that this novel is NA then you will LOVE what Kailin has placed between the covers of this one.  The biggest and best of these things being Never.  She is such a wonderful character and so real.  She is  believable and even though she has been raised by the rich and famous she wants to earn her own name and her own dreams.  She understands that nothing is ever just easy or simple but wants to get through it all and take herself and her closest friends to the top.  The relationship she has with her parents was super awesome too, even though her Dad wanted no part of entering the world he was once a part of.  This is always in the back of her thoughts when it comes to almost everything to do with the band because she is concerned about exactly what extent her Dad would go to, to stop her.

Right from the start I didn't like Geoff- Jerk!  Good thing that Kyle, Luc and Steve are awesome and totally fit the band mentality I had hoped to be reading about.  Each guy is unique in their own way and brings something to the table.  Kyle is like Never's brother.  Her attractive over protective brother.  Luc is the kind of guy that your jaw drops that little when looking at him and Steve is the guy you go to when you need to vent because you know he isn't any more than a friend.  Yes that means that the others potentially have feelings for Neve but band rule #1: DON'T DATE BAND MATES!  However some rules are made to be broken.

The romance in this book is just flat out HOT!  How you may ask?  One word answer will give you all you need.  Danny.  That's a name I know but this guy is the epitome of sex appeal.  The saying all that and a bag of chips comes to mind.  From the very second Danny steps onto the pages you are drawn to him.  However (yes there is a however for me with him)  I found that he was much to separated for me.  I know crazy right but every time I started to feel like he was going somewhere, something would happen and I would just think "REALLY?!"   I want so much more from him and I am terrified that he is going to fall short.  I continue to drool over this man but I hope to see a little more than physical attachment in the next book.

The story in general was interesting and fast paced.  Never was conflicted as to what to do and made some (in my opinion) bad choices.  But that's how we learn right?  That is how we grow and become for the most part better people.  Some of the betrayal that went down was hard for me but at the same time she was only trying to do what was best for the band.  The reactions and emotion that just pour out of the characters that Kailin Gow has written are so strong and you will feel many of them yourself.  I know there were parts that just broke my heart right down!

I really can't stress it enough how much I enjoyed Never Say Never.  It was original, fun and like all of Kailin's work there was never a dull moment.  I love the New Adult genre that is starting to take form more now.  It's a great cross for people that love YA but crave a little more of the romance.  The steamy scenes will blow you away and yet there is a lot there that will ground you.  Take what you want from all of this crazyness but know that I read this one almost right through from start to finish!

  3. Man, some YA definitely needs some of that "tension" alleviated. Sometimes the tension in those books makes ME tense. I really do need to jump into the New Adult genre already. Ease some of the lingering YA tension!
